North Idaho College is hosting an information session for high school students and parents on its Dual Credit program from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 in the Sandpoint High School Library.

Dual Credit is an opportunity for eligible high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college courses and receive college credit and high school credit at the same time. NIC’s college-level classes give participants a much wider selection of electives, help the transition to college and save money since tuition for dual credit students is less than the normal rate. To be eligible, it is recommended program participants have a 3.0 GPA, be at least 16 years old and have permission from parents and high school counselors.

This session is focused on providing information on spring semester classes that start in January or classes that begin next fall. It is open to all high school students and their family members. Information will be provided including new scholarship opportunities for Dual Credit students, how to apply and eligibility requirements.

Registration for current dual credit students begins Nov. 5 and registration for new dual credit students begins Nov. 29.

The Dual Credit program can be reached at (208) 769-3229.
