Art Presentation Fundraiser with Janene Grende

The Memorial Community Center in Hope welcomes local artist, Janene Grende, for the second performance of the Artist Series 2010 on Friday, June 18th at 6 pm.  Janene is a local favorite here at the Center.  The special treat is that the piece of art that she creates on this evening will be donated to the Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the Bodacious Barbecue, which is coming up on Saturday, July 17th.  Last year’s piece entitled “Sunrise Moose” was a huge hit at the live auction.  We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us this year!

The particular form of painting that Janene will be demonstrating is one of the oldest on record according to art experts, even older than rock painting.  Janene started using this silk-dye technique in the mid 90's and she likes to call it "Doris Day Painting".  "You mix the colors on the silk and what will be, will be." she said.  Years of living in the beauty of North Idaho have continually inspired the wildlife paintings of professional artist and lifelong equestrian, Janene Grende.   Janene's prints are available through Cabela stores and her work has been licensed for calendars, greeting cards, t-shirts, coffee mugs, and garden flags.

The evening will start at 6 pm with appetizers, a wine bar, along with other beverages brought to you by Pend Oreille Pasta.  Following this will be Janene’s presentation at 7 pm.

Advance tickets are required and are available at the Memorial Community Center located at 415 Wellington Place in Hope, at Pend Oreille Pasta in Sandpoint, or from any Board Member.  You may also send your payment by mail to P.O. Box 405, Hope, ID  83836 clearly indicating your ticket choices, and your tickets will be mailed to you.  We also accept Discover, Visa, and Master Cards.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the charitable programs at the Memorial Community Center.  Please call 264-5481 for further information.
