Panhandle State Bank fundraiser to benefit Sandpoint's Head Start program

by Karri Huggins

On May 31, Panhandle State Bank is partnering with Sandpoint Area Head Start to raise money to support the building restoration project at Head Start’s 101 S. Euclid location. The partners are hoping to raise $5,500, which the bank will then match through its Community Match Fundraising Program for a total donation of $11,000. Restoration work has been ongoing and the funds raised will help complete the project with the addition of new siding.

Panhandle State Bank employees are coordinating a large scale Yard Sale Fundraiser for the project on May 31 from 9 am until 3 pm in the parking lot of the new Sandpoint Center at 414 Church Street. The community is encouraged to participate by donating gently used items for the sale and stopping by on May 31 to check out some amazing deals and support a very worthy cause.  In addition to donated items received from the community and from

Panhandle State Bank employees, the bank is planning to participate by adding old office furniture and equipment that is no longer needed to the items up for sale. Please call Karri Huggins at 208-265-3746 if you are interested in donating to arrange a time for drop off.

Panhandle State Bank’s Community Match Fundraising Program has helped raise thousands of dollars throughout the communities PSB and its affiliates serve. The Community Match Program is designed to support schools and education in those communities as well as organizations that benefit area senior citizens. Projects in recent years have helped  rebuild the damaged track at Sandpoint High School’s track and field facility, restore the grandstands at Memorial Field, provided funds for Meals on Wheels, assisted Clark Fork Jr./Sr. High School in building new bleachers at their athletic field and donated money to classroom teachers and departments to purchase supplies.
So please mark your calendars and help support our area Head Start Program by attending the PSB Community Match Fundraiser Yard Sale with your friends and relatives who love to shop for good deals and help a great cause. In addition to the yard sale there will be other fun activities planned such as face painting for the kids and baked goods and hot dogs for sale for everyone to enjoy.
