Local business offers local products for purchase on website

Keokee Publishing, which publishes the website SandpointOnline.com, is taking local shopping to a new level this month as they launch two new offerings on their website: the Sandpoint Online General Store, offering local music, books, publications and specialty foods; and a new real estate link that hooks online surfers up with Bonner County's entire Multiple Listing Service (MLS) catalog.
Chris Bessler, Keokee Publisher, said, "We get a lot of traffic to Sandpoint Online, and these (additions) will improve the visitor experience. Typically, people who come to our website are looking for information about Sandpoint, and a lot are looking to relocate to the area."
Those relocating will be amazed by what they find when clicking on the real estate link. In a deal with the local office of Tomlinson Black Panhandle Kaniksu, every property listed for sale in Bonner County's MLS program is available with one click.
This is a database-driven website with thousands of properties to search.  A powerful search engine allows those interested to see properties sorted by a number of categories - price, type of home, number of bedrooms, area, location, lot size, home size, square footage and categories such as waterfront and acreage.
"We're also amplifying our other real estate content," Bessler said. "We'll have an area buyer's guide, a monthly market report, plus a directory of home builders, title and loan offices, and other services. Information is just one click away. This is really a big deal for someone looking for real estate," he added. "This opens the door to the whole MLS catalog to anyone with Internet access."
The Online General Store will appeal to anyone interested in what Sandpoint has to offer - both locals and those who live elsewhere. Looking for a Wild Roses CD? How about a copy of Hope resident Dwayne Parson's book, Flying Over Rainbows, Sandy Compton's Jason's Passage, or Irene Dunn's Out of the Night? You can order it right here, along with maps, other publications (like the popular Sandpoint Magazine, and our own River Journal) and books about our region. Currently under production is another entire section of gourmet and specialty foods and wines, produced right here in our local area. Christmas shopping has never been easier.
Bessler says the folks at Keokee are "always working to make Sandpoint Online bigger and better. We're constantly making changes to the content." Those changes are helping to make this website - found consistently in the upper rankings on search engines - a "must visit" destination for locals and visitors alike.
