I was in the doctor’s office the other day.  My health care provider was asking me what I do. I say, “ I teach yoga.”

“Do you have any men students?” she asks.  “No, not really.”

She remarks, “What this area needs is yoga for men.  You now how most women feel about going into a gym and picking up some weights and working out?”

“Yeah, that would be me.”

“Well, that is how men feel about walking into a yoga class of limber women. I have a lot of men patients who are so muscle bound. You know, really stiff. I would like to recommend yoga for them.  If you would teach yoga to men I would send you some guys that really need it.”

This got me thinking.  My husband and I sometimes do yoga together in our living room. (He won’t go to a yoga class either) and I notice that he has more strength in some areas and I am able to bend in other areas.  So I decided to offer a men’s basic yoga class beginning Wednesday, January 6th from 5:30 pm. To 6:45pm.  Some of the things we will be working on are stretching, balance and breath.  Classes will be held at Idaho Wood, 258 McGhee Rd. (last building on left  near Coldwater Creek) Cost is $35 for 6 classes.

First class is free. Call 263-9521 to register.  Space is limited.  Bring your body. Buddha bellies welcome.
