Finding out What's New

You are here... and here's why

The River Journal strives to learn and grow, but too often people don't know what we're doing, or they know what and don't know why. Hence this section of the website.

Earlier posts have mentioned our presence on Facebook and Twitter, making it possible for for people to easily stay up to date with what's going on. You've seen our automated PDFs, and possibly have searched through the River Journal around the world. And there are more changes and new additions coming.

In the print world of the River Journal, we're experimenting with a new way to lay out pages. If you've picked up a copy, you'll notice that stories are now continued on the very next page. This was in response to Alex Broughton's comment that if he has to search for a page where a story's continued, he generally quits reading the story. And Alex was not the only one who didn't like page jumps.

Making this change is not as easy as it might appear... it sure makes laying out the pages for an issue take a much longer time, and more thought is involved. But you've asked for it, so you've got it.

Your feedback and opinions are always appreciated. Let me know what ideas you have for how we can improve your ability to wade through the River Journal. And you can always check this spot on our website to find out what we're doing.
